Brooks Williams is one of those rare artists who can seemingly do it all. A gifted singer, songwriter and guitarist, the Statesboro, Georgia-born musician has been a leading light on the acoustic music scene for more than three decades.
Named one of the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists, Brooks moves effortlessly between folk, blues, country and Americana, combining soulful songwriting with extraordinary musicianship. Blues Revue praised “how soulful a solo guitarist can be when he has talent, taste and astonishing technique.”
Since leaving Georgia for Boston in his late teens, Brooks has built an impressive career spanning 35 years, 34 recordings and performances at venues and festivals across the world. Along the way, he has supported artists including Billy Bragg, Taj Mahal, Odetta, Leo Kottke and Chris Smither, as well as collaborating with musicians including Boo Hewerdine, Aaron Catlow and Vera van Heeringen.
His latest album, Diamond Days, has been described by At The Barrier as a “stunning collection from the chocolate-voiced, guitar maestro.”
Join Brooks Williams at Cumbernauld Theatre for an evening of masterful guitar playing, songs and stories from one of acoustic music’s most enduring performers.
