The latest brochure runs from January to July 2024.
The current brochure runs from July to December 2023.
As an award-winning theatre company, Lanternhouse is where we create our own in-house theatre productions and co-productions and where we present the very best drama, music, comedy and dance from visiting artists and performing arts companies working in Scotland and further afield.
Lanternhouse is a performing arts centre jointly managed by North Lanarkshire Council and Cumbernauld Theatre, a third sector arts charity.
Our Take Part classes are for everyone (yes, that means you). From drama to dance, sensory play to arts, crafting and circus performance, there is bound to be something to get your creativity flowing.
The new Lanternhouse café is now open.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our supporters, our Christmas Appeal is providing 300 tickets for our festive productions. Groups and organisations are invited to apply now.

Do you live in Cumbernauld or have a connection to the area? Are you a mover and shaker who loves to dance, perform and boogie? Or do you know someone local who loves to bust a move? We are looking for JOYOUS movers, shakers and local dance heroes to represent the energy and diversity of Aberdeen. Hip-Hop, Bhangra, Jive, Northern Soul, Contemporary, Flamenco, Highland Dancing, Happy Hardcore… anything goes.

Spring is in the air as Cumbernauld Theatre announces its busiest season yet at Lanternhouse.
From Kilsyth to Carluke, 32 schools and college groups have visited Lanternhouse this week for Tally’s Blood, our co-production alongside The Gaiety, Ayr, and Perth Theatre. We would like to thank all those teachers who chose us for their Drama and English group trips.

Join us in celebrating 60 years of Cumbernauld Theatre, from our previous home in the Cottages to our new home at Lanternhouse. Our very own People’s Theatre Company is devising a new work planned for Summer 2024. We are seeking stories and memories from the community spanning the past six decades.

First and foremost, we want to make your visit to Lanternhouse as enjoyable and as stress-free as possible.
Our staff are here to help and happy to do so. Please let us know at the time of booking or on arrival if you have access requirements.
Guide dogs and hearing dogs are always welcome.
At Cumbernauld Theatre we want to support artists and companies of all backgrounds, experiences and art-forms to develop their work and careers with us.
Whether that’s about bringing a piece of theatre to our stage, developing a new project with our community, or finding out current opportunities to work with us – then Creative Opportunities is the place for you.
