Each of our Lanternhouse Laughs events is a unique comedy highlight in our calendar, hosted by its very own compère and featuring 3 hand-picked comedy-circuit favourites, guaranteeing to bring the (Lantern)house down!
Gareth Mutch compères the second of Lanternhouse Laughs this July. One of the finest storytelling comics on the Scottish comedy scene, Gareth has the ability to effortlessly smash an atmosphere into any roomn and has supported Ian Stirling (Love Island) on tour.*
And here’s the line-up:
Stephen Buchanan has been described as “a stand-up comedian” by over 4 publications, so it must be true… After winning the Scottish Comedian of the Year competition in 2018, Stephen also became the first ever Scottish comedian to win the coveted BBC New Comedy Award. He has also performed stand-up on Jonathan Ross’ comedy Club (ITV), Comedy Underground (BBC Scotland), The Now Show (BBC Radio 4), The DriveTime Show (BBC Radio 2), and The Arts Hour (BBC World Service). This is Stephen’s second appearance in th Lanternhouse Laughs series.
Susan Riddell is the writer, creater and star of several on-line comedy sketches for BBC Short Stuff which have garnered nearly 3 million views and counting. Susan recently supported Ardal O’Hanlon on tour and performed stand up at the Edinburgh Fringe in both CKP’s Lunchtime Special and the BBC Presents Comedy Tent. Other writing credits and acting roles include C4 and BBC’s Scot Squad. This is Susan’s second appearance in th Lanternhouse Laughs series.
Headlining tonight’s Lanternhouse Laughs is Ray Bradshaw.
Ray Bradshaw is one of the brightest and most exciting acts on the UK Comedy circuit. A double Scottish Comedian of the Year finalist, he has performed sell out solo festival shows in Edinburgh, Adelaide, and Melbourne. Ray has numerous radio credits under his belt with BBC Scotland and Radio 4, is a frequent guest on Kevin Bridges and Friends, and recently supported Ardal O’Hanlon on tour. With a wealth of experience in the world of TV warm up, Ray has worked on the BAFTA nominated Dog Ate My Homework for CBBC, as well as Don’t Drop The Baton, and Hogmanay Live for BBC Scotland – showcasing his versatility and ability to appeal to audiences of any age.
