A Lover’s Discourse

Classical Music

Dunedin Consort on the Big Screen

What is love, anyway? Join Dunedin Consort for an exploration of love through the ages in this specially commissioned film by Leith-based film studio Arms & Legs, shot in locations across Edinburgh. Pairing the dream-like writings of Roland Barthes with music by Monteverdi, Gesualdo and Marenzio, A Lover’s Discourse examines the very real frustrations and contradictions of human love, reminding us that it is as universal as it is timeless.

The screening is preceded by a conversation with Chief Executive, Jo Buckley, and the film’s producer, David Lee.
