This week we welcome MHz and collaborator Hannah Finn in residency at Lanternhouse to work on their latest project [dream] ENGINE. This new work, produced by Feral Arts, harnesses the ethereal quality of dreams through immersive AV, somatic sound fields and the art of contortion.
Visual theatre makers MHz and movement artist Hannah Finn unite to create a performance inspired by neuroscience, sensory memory and surrealism. ENGINE unmasks the neural networks and brain processes that create the spontaneous, nonsensical and other-worldly manifestations within dreams.
During this development week at Lanternhouse they will be re-familiarising themselves with previous movement+AV research, experimenting with a large-scale projection cube and exploring Michael Chekhov Acting Technique with a focus on his psycho-physical trainings (atmosphere, imagination and feelings) with Circus coach and Chekov specialist Anna-Katharina Andrees.
ENGINE will come to Lanternhouse in January 2024 during next years’ Spring/Summer season.
