The launch of Cumbernauld Theatre at Lanternhouse.
On 2 October, the company will have great pleasure in welcoming invited members of the community through the doors for a one-day celebration and exploration of its new home!
Let The Light In will be a day of exploration, performances and conversations; reintroducing ourselves and sharing our new venue with you.
We will have tours and insights around the building, activities for families and little ones, taster sessions from our creative learning programme and a sing-sational performance, co-created and made with incredible local talent!
Our doors may have been shut for a while now, but we have been far from idle. Our team has been getting everything ready behind the scenes; kitting out the new theatre auditorium and studio, meeting our new neighbours, making work with local groups and producing the shows that will fill these beautiful spaces.
But before we kick off with our first Cumbernauld Theatre production, we wanted to make sure that we had invited the most important people into the building, to come and tell us what they think.
And that is where we need you!
Our theatre was founded by people like you, who believed in the profound benefits the arts can have on society, and who volunteered their time and money to create a local arts centre in a set of 18th century cottages. Now, thanks to your continued support, we have a purpose built, state of the art building and we can’t wait to share it with you.
With Test and Trace still in place, your safety is our top priority and therefore we are limiting the number of people for this event. So, please keep a watchful eye… as individual invitations to join us for our launch day will be making their way through the letterboxes of Cumbernauld this summer.
