Cumbernauld Theatre Trust is seeking a high-quality festive family production to be staged on the main stage at Lanternhouse this December. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your work to a fully-equipped, modern theatre, reaching family audiences, school groups, and a community that has made our festive programme a beloved tradition.
We welcome proposals from theatre companies and producers with a well-crafted, engaging production that will delight audiences in Cumbernauld. Whether a play, musical, or pantomime, your production may have toured before or be a brand-new concept – what matters is strong storytelling and local appeal. We are also interested in shows that offer community involvement, such as a chorus, dancers, or young performers.
Last year’s Pinocchio was our most successful festive production to date, with over 9,500 people stepping into the festive magic of Timbernauld across 42 performances. We are looking to build on that success by hosting a production that will once again bring the magic of the season to audiences of all ages.
The selected production will run in our 277-seat main auditorium, with free access to the Lanternhouse Dance Studio for rehearsals from late October and use of the main auditorium during tech week. It will operate on a box office split and benefit from dedicated technical and marketing support from our in-house team to bring it to life.
To find out more, please send your note of interest to programme@cumbernauldtheatre.co.uk to request the information pack. Applications close on Friday 28 March.
