CPD Opportunity: Workshop with International Artist Becky Baumwoll

Workshops

This exciting workshop for drama teachers and practitioners, led by international artist Becky Baumwoll, will focus on mime and physical theatre skills, sharing a different approach to exploring personal narratives, storytelling and analysing body language for performance and nonverbal communication.

She will share the practice and theory behind mime as an entry point for ‘presentness’ and introduce her Unplugged Cinema using staging and cinematic techniques as a collective ensemble through the body. It will be a fun, focused and enlightening dive into building your classroom/rehearsal room culture for movement for all body and neural types. It will also be an invigorating refresher or introduction for those who have never practised the skills.

Joining Becky will be Simon Sharkey, one of the founding directors of the National Theatre of Scotland. Time permitting, they will make space for conversation around the “Teaching Artistry” movement sweeping across the globe.
