Scottish singer songwriter JJ Gilmour first tasted success as the joint front man with Scottish band The Silencers. The band toured extensively enjoying great success across Europe.
After leaving the band, JJ secured himself a solo deal with the help of golfing star Ian Woosnam and is now firmly established as a solo artist with 5 studio albums under his belt and now in 2025 his 25 plus years work as solo artist has been celebrated with the release of his compilation album “The Evolution of JJ Gilmour”.
JJ visits Nashville Tennessee in early 2026 to record his 6th solo album and will be working with some of Nashville’s finest musician under the watchful eye of producer Chas Sandford who previously has produced Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson and John Waite to name but three.
JJ has also enjoyed success with his hit musical Dancing Shoes, based on the life of footballer George Best and has written the music for the musical The Titanic Boys which played to over 40,000 people.
Music aside, JJ is an outspoken advocate for mental health.
GERARD M BURNS
Artist musician and songwriter Gerard M Burns is best known perhaps for his large scale paintings and portraits. He has however maintained a strong connection to his music throughout a career which stretches back to the 1980s, when he was the front man with the band ‘Valerie and the week of wonders’. At that time they toured with and supported bands like the ‘The Icicle works’, and ‘Simple Minds’, and as a solo musician ‘Hue and Cry’ and the legendary ‘Lyall Lovat’ to name but a few
Asked about his music Burns will say he is primarily a songwriter, and that if he has any strength as a musician that’s where it lies. His writing however covers an incredibly wide range of different genres, ranging from blues and soul, to Alt Americana, indie rock and beyond.
He is currently engaged in a collaborative project with a number of local musicians in ‘Studio 1790’, ana small recording Studio on the outskirts of Cumbernauld, and his first solo album ‘Everybody’ due to be released on ‘Last Night From Glasgow’ at the end of this year.
