Lanternhouse Laughs – Chris Forbes, Gareth Waugh

Stand-up Comedy

Each of our Lanternhouse Laughs events is a unique comedy highlight in our calendar, hosted by its very own compère and featuring 3 hand-picked comedy-circuit favourites, guaranteeing to bring the (Lantern)house down!

Chris Forbes makes a welcome return to Lanternhouse Laughs to compère the final Lanternhouse Laughs of this season. Star of BBC’s Scot Squad and award-winning comedian, Chris Forbes is one of the most in demand comics in Scotland and has gigged all over the world and supported Kevin Bridges on tour.

And here’s the line-up:

Gareth Mutch is an actor and stand-up comic who is a regular on the Edinburgh comedy circuit. Gareth was a semi-finalist in the Laughing Horse Competition 2012.

Kathleen Hughes is a Glaswegian comedian who began performing stand-up in January 2020, acknowledged as possibly the worst time to become a comedian. Her writing has been featured on BBC Radio Scotland’s Breaking the News and BBC Radio 4’s Newsjack. This is Katherine’s third appearance in the Lanternhouse Laughs series.

Headlining tonight’s Lanternhouse Laughs is Gareth Waugh.*
Edinburgh-based comedian and writer Gareth Waugh first set foot on stage in 2010, making an immediate splash in the entertainment industry and described by the BBC as “One of the fastest rising stars of the Scottish comedy circuit”.Gareth is a regular in the UK’s major comedy clubs and festivals and, in addition to his stand-up and creating occasional short-form clips for BBC Online, he is currently writing a new animated series for a BAFTA-winning production company.
