Lanternhouse Laughs – March 2023

Stand-up Comedy

Have a great Saturday night out with our Lanternhouse Laughs, in association with Gilded Balloon, one of Scotland’s leading and best-loved comedy production companies!

Lineup:

Viv Gee (Compère)
Viv Gee was a finalist in So You Think You’re Funny and the BBC Open Mic Awards and since then has performed comedy from L.A to Bangkok. She also
has compered various festivals including T in the Park and Glasgow’s New Year celebrations.
TV and Radio appearances include Lorraine Kelly’s Make Me Happier STV and BBC’s Stake Out, Hedz, River City, Revolver, The Comedy Underground
and The Gates. In 2014 she was the recipient of the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Comedy at the inaugural Scottish Comedy Awards.

Rae Brogan
Rae Brogan is a new act based in Glasgow. Hailing from London, she has had to rely on her incisive humour and dynamic delivery to distract the Scots from her unfortunate accent. So You Think You’re Funny? 2021 Runner up.

Fearghas Kelly
Fearghas Kelly is an up-and-coming stand-up, unintentional John Lennon lookalike and disappointment from Glasgow. Praised by his favourite comedy club for his well-written material, confident delivery and audience rapport, nothing that comes out of his mouth is independently verifiable. Except that last bit which he insists he can prove.

John Gavin (Headliner)
‘Hard hitting and side splitting’ (Daily Record) and ‘A Class Act’ (Chortle), John Gavin is a former Scottish Comedian of the Year and Star of BBC Scotland’s ‘Scot Squad’. A regular act at all of the big comedy chains, you can find John gigging most weekends at Highlight, Jongleurs, Glee, The Stand, The comedy Club and many smaller independent gigs throughout the UK. During the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015, Gavin was part of a regular stand-up show throughout the fringe run at the Guidedac Balloon.

* Please note that Stephen Buchanan is no longer available and John Gavin will now headline.
