Stand-up Comedy

Have a great Saturday night out with our Lanternhouse Laughs, in association with Gilded Balloon, one of Scotland’s leading and best-loved comedy production companies!

Lineup:

Jay Lafferty (Compère)
Jay has been performing comedy since 2005 working all over the UK as well as performing in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Reykjavik and Amsterdam. An experienced compere and stand-up Jay has an easy manner on stage, instantly connecting with her audience – whether a rowdy group of stags and hens or a serene ladies’ luncheon.
An experienced writer and performer, Jay has worked on a number of hit BBC Scotland and BBC Four radio shows and is one of the longest-running panelists on Radio Scotland’s Breaking The News and has appeared on BBC’s Scot Squad.

Rosco McLelland
Scottish Comedian of the Year Rosco McClelland is riding the Scottish comedy revival, hotly tipped as one of its brightest stars, with bags of potential and professional accolades to prove he is one to watch.
Twice nominated Best Newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards, and winner of Scottish Comedian of the Year in 2016, Rosco’s gravelly and animated onstage presence has impressed judges and audiences alike. He commands continuous laughter from his audiences, his naturally humorous delivery and surreal observations making a remarkable performance.

Krystal Evans
Krystal Evans is a UK-based American comedian who has come over here for the free healthcare and to take British comedians’ jobs!
Krystal is a newcomer on the Scottish comedy scene and has quickly established herself as “one to watch,” with her dry sarcasm and toasty sass. So far to date she has been a finalist in the Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year, won the Frog and Bucket Gong Show and the Ten Feet Tall Stockton Gong Show and was the runner-up in the Monkey Barrel Top Banana of the Year competition.

Scott Agnew (Headliner)
Scott Agnew is a Glaswegian critically acclaimed stand-up comedian and compere performing around the UK and internationally.
Agnew is considered one of the best storytellers in the business and is a former journalist with TV presenting credits (MTV, BBC Three, STV) and also radio appearances (BBC FiveLive, BBC Radio Scotland, Clyde 1, Galaxy FM) under his belt.
The Scottish Comedian of the Year 2008 has entertained up and down the UK and internationally and is a regular headliner for the likes of Jongleurs, Highlight, The Stand and The Comedy Club as well as hosting in front of 8000 at Glasgow’s Gay Pride march in 2012.
