Classical Music – on the big screen. In this specially commissioned film, the musicians of Dunedin Consort and soprano Rowan Pierce perform a beautiful programme of music inspired by nature, introduced by Music Director, Professor John Butt of Glasgow University. This filmed performance includes excerpts from Vivaldi Four Seasons, Telemann Violin Concerto, The Frogs and Water Music, and arias for soprano and orchestra by Handel and Scarlatti. There will also be an opportunity for questions, answers and conversation at the end.
Throughout this Autumn and Spring 2023 we welcome Dunedin Consort, one of the world’s leading Baroque ensembles, as artists in residence at Lanternhouse. Widely regarded worldwide for exceptional classical and choral performances, their work spans centuries of musical genius including Handel, Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
