Relaxed Concert – Purcell Songs with Soprano Mhairi Lawson

Specially designed for those with additional support needs and for those with caring responsibilities, this relaxed concert is a whole lot less formal than what you might expect. It’s for anyone and everyone. With music to lift the spirit and relax the mind, you can get up and move around, take a break, speak or even sing!

This performance will feature songs and instrumental music by Purcell and his Scottish contemporaries — with plenty of familiar Scottish folksongs along the way.

We invite anyone who identifies as neurodivergent, has a long-term health issue such as Dementia, mobility challenges as well as elderly groups.

Community group bookings of 10+ are free. Individual bookings by patrons with concession status and carers are free.

Throughout this Autumn and Spring 2023 we welcome Dunedin Consort, one of the world’s leading Baroque ensembles, as artists in residence at Lanternhouse. Widely regarded worldwide for exceptional classical and choral performances, their work spans centuries of musical genius including Handel, Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
