Althea Young is a performance maker and facilitator based in Glasgow. She makes performances for people of all ages and is especially fond of creating unique worlds, where ordinary objects come to life. When she is not rehearsing she is busy leading our Youth Drama Groups and iD Arts Clubs, bringing her passion for performance into inclusive community settings.
My favourite thing about Life of the Party is how fun and full of personality each object is (and getting to do silly dances in our cool silver trainers)!
Someone seeing the show can expect to encounter Sal and Al, friends on a journey towards making a party reality, along the way meeting living objects who help us understand what we need to have fun and celebrate.
Fun fact: I used to be in the circus!
Sally Charlton is a performance maker and facilitator based in Glasgow. She trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and makes shows for all ages and is passionate about creating meaningful experiences for audiences, centred on joy and hope. She’s so excited to be making her first show with Cumbernauld Theatre.
My favourite thing about Life of the Party is how many different layers and elements are unveiled throughout the show. It feels full of surprises!
Someone seeing the show can expect objects coming alive, silly dances, sparkly costumes, and hopefully… the perfect party.
Fun fact: I still have some baby teeth!
Life of the Party opens in our Studio Theatre from 3 – 24 December.
People came together at Lanternhouse on Sunday 10 May for the first of our Community Gatherings, a free day of food, film, music and creative activity celebrating global majority cultures. The event welcomed people of all ages to take part, try something new and spend time together.
