Do you live in Cumbernauld or have a connection to the area? Are you a mover and shaker who loves to dance, perform and boogie? Or do you know someone local who loves to bust a move? We are looking for JOYOUS movers, shakers and local dance heroes to represent the energy and diversity of Cumbernauld. Hip-Hop, Bhangra, Jive, Northern Soul, Contemporary, Flamenco, Highland Dancing, Happy Hardcore… anything goes.

TO PERFORM THEIR OWN 2 MIN ROUTINE ALONG THE STREETS OF CUMBERNAULD
You are applying to be one of our 5 dancers who will feature in our up and coming show STRUT.
STRUT is a night-time dance performance which will take place on: Thu 29 February and Fri 30 March 2024.
STRUT is a show by MHz supported by Lanternhouse at Cumbernauld Theatre.
Fee: £750 per selected performer

Duration: 2 min max, a simple, non-edited video filmed on a phone is perfect.
Best if you can show that you can dance whilst moving along like a parade would.

When submitting your application please do let us know of any access requirements you may have and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. This could range from BSL or Language Interpretation to Childcare Costs or Travel Allowances. Just let us know what we can provide to support you to take part in this project.
DEADLINE: THU 4 JAN 2024
To take part you must:
*Live in Cumbernauld.
*Be over 18 or have the authorisation from your parent/guardian. Under 16s must be accompanied to all rehearsals and performances by a parent or guardian.
*Be legally able to work in the UK
*Be able to be reached via a mobile phone number &/or email
*You must be able to commit to a 2 hour rehearsal (between Mon 12th – Wed 14th Feb 2024), a full day group rehearsal on Sun 25th Feb 2024 and 2 show days on Thurs 29th Feb and Sat 1st March 2024.
If you are selected we will ask to come to and perform at our finalists’ audition on Sun 14th Jan 2024. The decision will be taken by a panel consisting of local residents together with MHz.
