Cumbernauld Theatre at Lanternhouse is recruiting for lead artists across their Creative Learning Programme for the Autumn – Winter 2021 terms.
This is an exciting time to join us at Cumbernauld Theatre as we begin our first ever programme in our new venue, launching with an entirely new Take Part programme across drama, dance, and community arts.
We’re looking for lead artists who are excited by the prospect of leading high-quality arts classes for our community, who want to design and create exciting terms of activity, and who are experienced in the delivery of creative learning projects and programmes.
Our Thursday Performance classes are a space for young artists between the ages of 12 and 25 to come together and develop skills and experience as performers and theatre makers. Through developing performance techniques and exploring devising and theatre-making at large, we hope to provide a high-quality training for the young artists in our community!
We are currently recruiting Lead Artists for the following classes:
Performance Technique – S1 to S4 – 5.30pm – 7.00pm
Performance Technique – 16 to 25s – 5.30pm – 7.00pm
Performance Making – S1 to S4 – 7.30pm – 9.00pm
Performance Making – 16 to 25s – 7.30pm – 9.00pm
All these classes run from Thursday 14 October to Thursday 25 November at Cumbernauld Theatre at Lanternhouse.
We’re looking for artists capable of developing a high-quality 7-week programme that provides local young artists with skills and experiences as performers and theatre makers.
What We Offer:
All our Lead Artists will be supported by a trainee artist assistant as well as the core staff at the venue. Cumbernauld Theatre is committed to supporting the development of our lead artists throughout their engagement with us, and we’ll endeavour to support your practice through offering further opportunities and training.
Lead Artists will be paid £30 per hour, inclusive of planning, and will be provided a materials budget for their term. We are happy to accept applications by artists to deliver consecutive classes on days where classes run throughout.
To apply please submit a CV along with a cover letter that demonstrates previous projects and states which class(es) you are interested in leading and why, to our Community Engagement Manager, Eoin McKenzie, at recruitment@cumbernauldtheatre.co.uk by Friday 3 September 2021.
We will notify all applicants by Monday 6 September and conduct interviews from Monday 13 September 2021.
