Cumbernauld Theatre is seeking two passionate individuals to join our Board and help steer the future of our much-loved cultural institution. As a Board Member, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our mission to unite communities and drive positive social change through the transformative power of the arts.
We are especially keen to enhance the diversity of our Board, welcoming applications from underrepresented groups, including Black and Minority Ethnic communities and young adults. Whether you have a wealth of experience or are new to governance, your unique perspective and passion for the arts are what matter most.
Philosophy
At Cumbernauld Theatre we value and respect the incredible freelance workforce that is the backbone of our arts sector. We are committed to inclusive and transparent hiring, casting and programming. This means we will always advertise any opportunities to work or make work with us on our Current Opportunities page.
Commitment
We aim to work with a diverse range of freelance technicians, stage managers, directors, designers, theatre-makers and writers across the year.
We have committed to supporting local talent and provide opportunities for a range of people from diverse backgrounds. As a regularly funded organisation we have committed to recruiting through open calls and open hires. We believe in transparency and will be as clear as possible with all of our call outs.
We are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive work environment where our staff are empowered to do their best work and believe in providing an equitable experience for all. Therefore, we will always invite those we work with to let us know about any access needs and to let us know of any barriers we may be unaware of.
Part of our ongoing review of our programming policy focusses on centring our community at the heart of our producing work. If you are an artist, technician or creative with a connection to Cumbernauld please do get in touch.
Access and equity
Cumbernauld Theatre Trust has made a commitment to centring lived experience across our work. We value diversity across our stages, staff and audiences. We will aim to provide care, support and reasonable adjustments to all that we work with. As an organisation we aim to work from a person centred approach which means that we strongly believe that you are the expert of your own needs and lived experience. If you would like to discuss any access needs or barriers before applying for any of our current opportunities please contact: info@cumbernauldtheatre.co.uk
