Our Vision: To be the cultural heart of Cumbernauld and North Lanarkshire, engaging our communities and strengthening Scottish performing arts.

Cumbernauld Theatre is a regional performing arts venue serving Cumbernauld’s population of 55,000+ and the surrounding communities of North Lanarkshire and the northern corridor, as well as neighbouring areas including Falkirk. The organisation presents a programme of diverse, professional performing arts and cinema events, opportunities for the local community to take part in creative activities, development support for Scotland’s creative performing arts sector and, in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, provides an excellent venue for local community performing arts organisations to present their own work. With a 60-year history of producing our own work, we continue to support emerging directors and creatives.

The future is exciting at Cumbernauld Theatre as we continue to develop our programme at Lanternhouse, our purpose-built arts venue in Cumbernauld.

Cumbernauld Theatre is a well-established producing theatre and charity, delivering a vibrant programme of visiting theatre and arts events, cinema and community arts engagement. We believe in the transformative and empowering potential of the arts and are committed to making a meaningful contribution to the community we serve.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive individual to join the technical team as Theatre Technician (Lighting Bias).

This role supports the technical delivery of performances, cinema and events, using specialist expertise in lighting, sound, AV and stagecraft to deliver high quality experiences across productions and events. Working closely with visiting companies and internal teams, the post holder will support all aspects of technical delivery, from rigging and operation to maintenance, production support and backstage operations.
