Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra

The Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra has become synonymous with performances that channel the energy, creativity and excitement of jazz and celebrate the work of the music’s greatest composers.

Since its formation in 2002, the orchestra has brought forward over one hundred talented young musicians, many of them award winners who have gone on to enjoy successful careers and national and international acclaim.

Directed by Scotland’s most distinguished jazz musician, Tommy Smith, these young players rise to the challenge presented by a repertoire and the actual charts performed by their senior colleagues in the hugely respected Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.
