Cumbernauld Folk Club Presents Cateran

Come along and experience the fine mixture of traditional and folk music, storytelling and good company. Our monthly music night hosts a leading headliner with support from local musicians from in and around Cumbernauld. The theatre bar is also open throughout the night of joyously irresistible music.

Hailing from West and Central Scotland, this seven-piece band play a mix of their own songs, along with their take on some covers, in a cross between Folk, Country and Americana, with a strong acoustic bias and a focus on multi-part harmonies.

The members are all seasoned musicians and over the years have played in various bands, venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and the USA. Their influences are wide-ranging but there are strong Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young / Eagles / Jackson Browne / Runrig / Christy Moore flavours attaching to their music, style and writing.

Their self-penned songs have recently featured on radio stations across the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and various other countries, with their song writing being widely appreciated and recognised for their emotion and skilful delivery and presentation.
