Did you know Billy Connolly made his theatrical debut at our previous home, The Cottage Theatre? Our very own People’s Theatre Company is creating a brand new production, Connolly’s Cumbernauld Flourish, celebrating his life and his special connection to the town. We’d love your memories to be part of it.
Were you there that night, or did a family member attend? Do you have a story or tale about Billy you’d like to share?
You can email your story to us or join one of our story share sessions at Lanternhouse. For more information, please contact communityengagement@cumbernauldtheatre.co.uk
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?… He’s a mile away and you’ve got his shoes!

Connolly’s Cumbrnauld Flourish is showing in our Main Auditorium on Fri 3 Oct – Sat 4 Oct.
Trailer voiceover by ‘Baldy Connolly’ Stefan Livesey.
Do you know the story behind this photograph?
It’s just one of the many stories, memories and connections that make up Cumbernauld’s history over the past 70 years. As Cumbernauld marks its anniversary year, Cumbernauld Theatre is inviting local people to share the stories that make this town what it is, with selected stories helping to inspire a new piece of theatre.
